The U.S. Environmental Agency (EPA) of Brownfield The United States Environmental Protection Agency defines Brownfields as a property whose development, remediation or reuse may be complicated by the presence or potential presence of a hazardous substance, pollutant or pollutant. The Tennessee Brownfields Redevelopment Program works with the public to help reuse and revitalize brownfield sites in Tennessee. Many Tennessee real estate, once used as gas stations, dry cleaners, factories or real estate that may be free of contamination from unknown sources, are considered wasteland. Brownfield Revolving Loan Fund Grants provides money to capitalize on loans used to clean up wasteland. Brownfield Cleanup Grants provides direct funds for cleaning certain objects with green spaces, recreation or other non-profit uses. Brownfield Employment Grants provide environmental training for people living in communities affected by wasteland.
